One & Only Ocean Club

Just landed in the Bahamas to shoot the One and Only Ocean Club.  Should be a great week of shooting pending any storms (fingers crossed).  Off to meet the staff to go over the shoot.  Thought I’d share a couple of iPhone shots from the journey over.  Enjoy

Dallas Cowboys Stadium: It’s a wrap

Last night’s cowboy’s game marked the end of the epic week of shooting out at the Dallas Cowboy’s new stadium.  A lot of very long days but we got some truly amazing imagery of the suites and clubs capped off with some game day shots of the space in use last night.  At the airport this morning heading off for the week to shoot the One and Only Ocean Club in Nassau.  Should be a great week of shooting.  Will post from the Bahamas.   Until then, enjoy a parting shot from the stadium.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium: Xtravaganza

Quick update.  Yesterday marked the start of the mega shoot that are the interiors for the new Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium by HKS, Inc.  I think about everyone in the world has heard of or seen it by now (it’s the one with the giant screen).  After months of planning the shoot it is finally commencing.  This shoot will cover 5 days and over 80 finished shots.  I’ll be a bit m.i.a. for the next handful of days as the schedule is quite grueling (we wrapped last night at midnight and then headed home for a couple hours of sleep before resuming shooting at 6am).  Here’s a preview from this morning’s shoot.  The stadium has quite an art program chock full of art from famous artist from around the world.  The shot below is a piece by Olafur Eliasson.  Enjoy

Four Seasons Santa Barbara: It’s a wrap

Writing this from airport in Santa Barbara thinking about the amazing week of shooting.  We had some rainy days, we had some amazingly perfect days, and we had some foggy days.

Similar to the Las Ventanas (see 1,2,3,4) shoot a few weeks ago, what made this shoot special were the people.  The crew from the Four Seasons and TWHR were amazing.  Big thanks goes out to Zach, Erin, Victoria, Doug, Kevin, and the endless amounts of staff, models, and friends.  You all were amazing.

Will try to post shots from the shoot this week but will be heavily shooting the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium followed by the One and Only Ocean Club.  Until then I leave you with this parting snapshot at the end of a morning shoot.

Four Seasons Santa Barbara: a very selfish picture

While setting up for the evening patio shot here at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara I thought I would take some liberties with my remote triggering device and shoot a handful of shots of me on set that I would later composite together.   The result….well, let’s just say there is a good chance I’ve lost my mind.  Enjoy a little delirium from the set.  Now I really need to get to bed, those wakeup calls keep getting earlier and earlier.  Good night interwebs.

Four Seasons Santa Barbara: Update

My homecoming to Santa Barbara started out a rainy one.  Fortunately after a day and a half of hard rains we got some sun today.  Big day of shooting tomorrow and an epic shoot this Saturday and Sunday. I’ll leave you all with a shot from tonight’s sunset.  Enjoy

Four Seasons Santa Barbara: Going Home

6 years ago I packed up my Mini Cooper and left Santa Barbara to come back to Dallas.  Today I go back (minus the Mini Cooper).  Santa Barbara was the place I honed my skills in photography at world famous Brooks Institute of Photography and it’s also the place I proposed to my wife.  It will always have a special place in my heart.

This week is part business and part homecoming.  I’ll be shooting the newly renovated Four Seasons Santa Barbara this week followed by the revamped Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club next door.

On top of shooting these two amazing projects I’m getting the chance to get back together with one of my favorite teachers, Chris Orwig.  Chris is a fellow photographer, he’s an educator, a writer, and an all around swell guy.  I’ll be speaking to his advanced photoshop class on Wednesday so it should be a lot of fun.  Also, a shameless plug for Chris’s new book Visual Poetry, grab a copy off of amazon, you won’t be dissapointed.

Off to my gate so I’ll leave you with two pictures from the past.  The first is of my Mini packed to the gills ready for it’s 1,300 mile trip to Dallas and the second a snapshot of the Santa Barbara sunset from the day I proposed to my wife.  See you all in Santa Barbara!

Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa: Behind the Lens

A cancelled shoot and bad weather has really got me on my game for knocking out some new behind the lens videos (see also cabo).  This new video is from my recent trip to the beautiful island of Bermuda to shoot the newly opened Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa.  Enjoy the new video.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso: Behind the Lens

Stayed up late tonight to edit together some video from the amazing shoot at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos Mexico.  As I’ve written in previous post (1,2,3) I’m in love with the resort and the people who make it so special.  Enjoy the video.
