After 15 short hours in Indy, it’s back on the plane
Tonight I was shooting the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament configuration for the new Lucas Oil Stadium where the Indianapolis Colt’s play. This weekends setup was a bit of a dry run for next years Final Four that will be hosted here in Indy. Thought I’d break out the Flip Mino HD camera to give you a taste of the one sided game between The Louisville Cardinals vs the Arizona Wildcats. If you didn’t catch the game it ended with Louisville handily beating Arizona 103 to 64. Enjoy the video.

Another behind the lens video for today. This time it’s from the St Regis Punta Mita shoot. As I’ve mentioned in my other posts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) it’s a truly spectacular place with amazing people. The video was shot from a reflecting pool outside of the Altamira Bar at the entry of the resort. It was incredible to stand out in the pool overlooking the resort as the sun went down. I’ve got a couple of other clips from the shoot that I’m working on but I’m trying to get the hang of iMovie as I’m more familiar with it’s big brother Final Cut Pro. Either way, enjoy.

In the first installment of behind the lens video footage on the blog I have created something from my shoot at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. After a my shoot at dawn I setup for for the shot down the 9th hole looking back at the resort. As luck would have it the maintenance man drove his cart up and started to clean the pond. Fortunately he was kind enough to briefly move for the final shoot. Enjoy

I often find myself in very strange places and positions to create compelling images. Often the viewer has no idea what went in to creating them (hanging off of balconies, trudging through drainage ditches, climbing on top of construction equipment, ect). After being inspired by several photographer’s blogs (kudos to Chase Jarvis, Vincent LaForet, and Zack Arias) in which they post behind the scenes videos and images from their shoots, I’ve decided to join in on the sharing. Armed with my trusty and deceptively powerful Flip Mino HD camera, I will be giving you a behind the lens perspective of the images I create. Consider it a blakeTV if you will. Please note that the videos are not looking to be the next hollywood blockbusters or win any cinematic awards as they are all shot handheld and quickly pieced together in iMovie. With all that being said I think you will enjoy them.
Been working on the shots from this morning’s shoot out at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort here in Tucson. Here’s a taste of the morning’s shots.
